Job Summary (List Format) - Engineering Technician I (Round Lake, IL)

Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of electromechanical medical devices.
Set up, operate, and monitor test stands and testing activities.
Record, maintain, and report test data and results to engineers and managers.
Perform teardown, destructive, and "test to failure" activities for product development.
Verify and validate changes to existing products and test competitive devices as needed.
Collaborate with engineers on product failure analysis and suggest design improvements.
Set up and use a variety of equipment: environmental chambers, life test gear, mechanical gauges, electrical/electronic meters.
Design and document test configurations, setups, and create formal test reports.
Follow directions from Test Manager, Lab Supervisor, and Test Engineers on procedures and equipment use.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and testing requirements.
Use measurement test equipment and mechanical gauging instruments (micrometers, calipers, force gauges, dial indicators, hardness testers).
Interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
May require lifting up to 10 lbs.
Education: High School diploma required; AA Degree preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years in mechanical/electrical testing or relevant internship (6 years' related experience strongly preferred).
Basic computer, organization, verbal, and written skills required.
