WE ARE
The European External Action Service (EEAS) supports the High Representative in the exercise of her mandate to conduct and implement an effective and coherent Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), to represent the EU and to chair the Foreign Affairs Council.
It also supports the High Representative in her capacity as Vice-President of the Commission with regard to her responsibilities within the Commission in the external relations field, including the coordination of other aspects of the EU's external action. The EEAS works in close cooperation with the EU Member States, the General Secretariat of the Council, the services of the Commission and the Secretariat General of the European Parliament.
The Directorate for Policy Planning and Strategic Communication supports the High Representative-Vice President of the European Commission (HRVP) and the European External Action Service (EEAS) in implementing the EU common foreign, security and defence policies, by providing strategic analysis, foresight as well as communication advice and support, including through closing space for Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) building resilience against it. The Directorate develops Strategic Communication and Public Diplomacy activities across a wide range of geographic and thematic topics and works in close cooperation with EU Delegations, Member States, international partners and relevant services from other EU institutions.
Within the Directorate, the Division “Strategic Communication regional teams and coordination of Task Forces” (STRAT.3) provides strategic communication support in the implementation of EU foreign and security policy in Europe and the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, Sub Saharan Africa, Americas and Asia Pacific. The Division develops and implements specific strategic communication actions focused on advancing EU policies, values and interests. The Division also conducts awareness raising campaigns about the harmful impact of disinformation and contributes to the development of effective policy responses in the EU and at the international level. The Division - and the geographic Task Forces it coordinates - contribute to effective and fact-based strategic communication and the strengthening of the overall media environment and civil society in the regions it covers.

LEGAL BASIS
The vacancy is to be filled in accordance with the conditions stipulated under the CEOS, in particular Article 82 thereof. In case of recruitment, the successful candidate will be offered a contract agent position (Function group II), on the basis of a contract with an initial duration of one year that may be successively renewed up to a maximum duration of six years[2], subject to the maximum duration of engagement by the EEAS allowed under successive limited duration contracts of different types[3].

He/she Will Be Entrusted With The Following Main Tasks
Provide efficient secretarial support to the Head of Division as well as to the other members of the Division, as necessary to ensure efficient secretarial support;
provide assistance in organising the calendar, answering the telephone, filtering calls and taking messages, ordering supplies, responding to general inquiries and managing the e-mail exchange.
supervise the calendar and ensure that incoming messages and documents of horizontal nature are attributed and followed up and that deadlines are respected.
prepare minutes, notes, routine correspondence), presentations and document management: registration of incoming and outgoing correspondence, including in ARES;
Manage the main IT applications in use for administrative management (ARES, SYSPER, MIPS+, WEBEX, HIVE, e-briefing, Decide, etc)
handle the reproduction, circulation, storage, and retrieval of documents, making sure that they are properly filed in IT databases and easily accessible;
provide logistical support in the organization of meetings and events;.
ensure follow-up and respect of deadlines in the team activities (briefings, Parliamentary Questions, inter service consultations; translation requests and requests for information).

About the Company
At the invitation of the President of the Central African Republic, the EUAM RCA Mission was established in December 2019 by the European Council.
