Finance Business Partner, FP&A – Clinical & BioPharma

London (hybrid)

Global PE-Backed Life Sciences Organisation

Competitive salary + bonus + benefits

We are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity–backed pharmaceutical organisation to appoint a Finance Business Partner, FP&A to support its Clinical & Medical Office and BioPharma Business Unit.

This is a strategically important role, sitting at the heart of R&D and clinical investment decision-making. You will act as a trusted finance partner to senior scientific and medical leaders, ensuring disciplined investment, strong financial governance, and clear performance visibility across a complex development portfolio.

The Role

As Finance Business Partner, you will:

Lead the annual budget, rolling forecast (24-month), and long-range planning for the business unit
Build and maintain detailed project-level financial models across multiple development programmes
Track monthly project performance vs budget and forecast, identifying risks and funding gaps
Partner with programme and project leaders to understand timelines, cost drivers, and milestones
Support business case development for new programmes, partnerships, and external opportunities
Deliver robust management reporting, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
Strengthen project accounting, accruals, and financial governance processes
Enhance budgeting and project tracking tools to support scale and investor reporting

This role combines strong technical FP&A capability with genuine commercial influence in a high-growth, investor-driven environment.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience within pharma, biotech, CRO or life sciences (essential)
Strong R&D finance, clinical programme finance, or project reporting experience
Proven ownership of budgeting and forecasting in multi-project, multi-stakeholder environments
Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability
The confidence to partner with and challenge senior scientific stakeholders
The ability to present clearly to senior leadership

Experience within a PE-backed, high-growth or pre-exit environment is advantageous, as is exposure to portfolio governance, stage-gate processes, or pipeline investment decisions.

This is an opportunity to play a visible and influential role in shaping clinical and BioPharma investment strategy within a dynamic, growth-focused organisation.
