Client Overview

Peritia is supporting a growth-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on rare and liver diseases as they prepare for a U.S. commercial launch. Following a recent restructuring, the organization is seeking a seasoned US Market Access leader to step in quickly and lead strategy and execution.

This is a high-visibility executive role reporting directly to the President, U.S., and serving on both the U.S. Executive Leadership Team and Commercial Leadership Team.

The Role

The VP, US Market Access will lead all aspects of U.S. payer access strategy, pricing, contracting, reimbursement, channel strategy, government affairs, and patient support programs. This leader will oversee a team of 19 (5 direct reports) and ensure the market access model is scalable for future pipeline and business development opportunities.

This role requires a hands-on executive who can both set strategy and execute in a lean, fast-growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead U.S. Market Access strategy for launch and future assets
Oversee payer strategy, pricing, contracting, and reimbursement
Manage specialty pharmacy distribution, hub services, and patient support programs
Drive national account strategy and negotiations with major payers
Develop value dossiers, economic models, and payer communication plans
Partner with Medical Affairs on HEOR and Real-World Evidence strategy
Chair pricing committee and guide launch sequence and pricing strategy
Ensure access considerations are embedded in R&D and commercial planning
Provide executive-level guidance on payer policy risks and opportunities
Build and lead a high-performing Market Access organization

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
10+ years of Market Access leadership experience in biopharma
Proven success in national account management and direct payer negotiations
Deep experience in specialty/high-cost therapeutics
Strong understanding of U.S. payer systems and reimbursement landscape
Experience building and scaling patient support programs and hub models
Demonstrated leadership in entrepreneurial or fast-growing organizations
Therapeutic experience in liver, metabolic, cardiovascular, or rare disease preferred
Ability to travel as required
