Salary - £23,587.20 - This is pending a possible increase following April 2026.

Department Description

Trade credit insurance protects the policyholder in the event of a buyer becoming insolvent or failing to pay its invoices that are payable on credit terms. Our Risk Services Team is responsible for review of credit limit applications from new and existing customers, with a focus on financial analysis and economic performance. From our UK headquarters in Cardiff Bay, we underwrite over €40bn of credit on UK businesses, from SME’s to Multinational organisations. We pride ourselves on our expertise and our inclusive and supportive culture. We are offering a number of 12 month placements within the department. This role is suitable for undergraduates who have completed two years of university study.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting our underwriting teams in managing risk portfolios
Analysis of company accounts across a variety of UK trade sectors
Maintaining our exposure databases
Reporting of Management information to Senior Managers
Researching information sources for non-financial company information
Attending and recording high level Credit Committee and other risk forums

Ideal Candidate Profile

Good numerical skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Email, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to use the internet and other sources of information as research tools
Accurate data entry skills
Very good written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and able to discuss business issues with senior management
Knowledge of financial statements is desirable
An interest in commerce and international trade would be an advantage.
