Job title: Backend Java Software Engineer – Rev‑celerator Graduate Programme 2026
Role Summary:
A 12‑month graduate programme focused on backend development for a global financial platform. Candidates will design, build, and maintain micro‑services, mobile APIs, and critical infrastructure using Java 17, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, SparkJava, and related tools. The role emphasizes full‑lifecycle ownership, TDD, and collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams across multiple tech stacks.
Expactations:
* Deliver high‑quality, scalable Java code that meets functional and performance requirements.
* Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, code reviews, and pair programming.
* Adopt a test‑driven development approach and maintain comprehensive test coverage.
* Demonstrate rapid learning and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
* Communicate progress and technical decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs and micro‑services that support mobile and web clients.
* Optimize existing systems in Risk Management, Fraud Detection, and Payment Processing for reliability and performance.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical requirements and architecture decisions.
* Write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests; maintain documentation and deployment pipelines.
* Monitor and troubleshoot production incidents, applying root‑cause analysis and preventive measures.
Required Skills:
* Proficiency in Java 17 and modern Java frameworks (Spring or equivalent).
* Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, SparkJava, Spock, JOOQ.
* Strong grasp of micro‑services architecture, RESTful API design, and TDD.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing.
* Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Predicted or achieved 2:1 (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
* Graduation year 2024, 2025, or 2026.
* Portfolio of multiple coding side projects or open‑source contributions.
* Fluency in English; proactive, quick learner with a results‑driven mindset.
* Strong teamwork and organizational abilities; full‑time availability from September 2026.
