Location: Client site is in Manchester; ideally looking for someone who can travel there 1–2 days per week, though this is not a dealbreaker if less.

Rate: £400 - £500 Inside IR35

Robert Half is supporting a client in the search for an experienced, hands-on Accountant to support a growing international finance function.

This is a contract role requiring strong technical accounting expertise across both UK GAAP and US GAAP, alongside experience in revenue processes, reconciliations, and financial controls. The role will support core accounting operations, statutory reporting, and finance systems integration within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Q2C cycle, including invoicing and revenue recognition (with manual deferred revenue maintenance and collections tracking)
Perform bank reconciliation support, including matching customer receivables to Stripe and bank transactions
Manage US sales tax accounting
Prepare partner and sales commission calculations, including accruals, tracking, and capital bookings support
Load and maintain customer data within Avalara and support related system integrations
Provide statutory accounting support, including GAAP-to-statutory reconciliations
Review account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation
Support UK banking approvals processes
Assist with internal controls and SOX compliance, particularly across higher-risk areas

Requirements

Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP
Proven experience with revenue recognition in a commercial environment
Experience supporting statutory reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
Exposure to SOX and internal control frameworks
Hands-on experience with finance systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce (AP/GL modules preferred)
Strong understanding of customer/vendor data flows and finance system integrations
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
