Director – AI Strategy, Data Strategy & Technology Strategy

Leadership role advising CEOs, CIOs and Private Equity investors on enterprise AI strategy
Artificial Intelligence has moved beyond experimentation. Organisations are now making critical decisions about where to invest, how to scale, and how to translate AI into measurable business value.
We are supporting the growth of a leading global strategy consulting practice as they expand their Technology, AI & Data Strategy leadership team in London.
This is a Director-level opportunity to work directly with C-suite executives, helping them define enterprise AI strategy, build investment cases, and shape the future direction of their organisations.
This role sits within a front-end strategy practice — focused on strategic advisory, not technology implementation.
The Opportunity
As a Director, you will help organisations answer their most important strategic questions around AI, data, and technology, including:
Where can AI create the greatest enterprise value?
How should organisations prioritise AI investment?
What operating models are required to scale AI successfully?
How can data and AI drive revenue growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage?
You will work directly with CEOs, CIOs, Chief Data Officers, and Private Equity investors to define strategy, shape transformation programmes, and drive measurable outcomes.
This is a leadership role combining strategy delivery, client development, and practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Leadership
Lead enterprise AI strategy and data strategy engagements for FTSE 100 and global clients
Define AI use cases, value creation opportunities, and strategic investment priorities
Design AI operating models, governance frameworks, and enterprise transformation roadmaps
Client Leadership
Act as trusted advisor to senior executive stakeholders
Lead high-impact strategy engagements from concept through to execution roadmap
Translate complex technology and AI topics into clear strategic recommendations
Commercial Leadership
Build client relationships and originate new engagements
Contribute to the growth and development of AI and technology strategy capability
Support proposal development and practice growth initiatives
Practice Leadership
Mentor and develop consulting teams
Contribute to thought leadership in AI strategy, data strategy, and digital transformation
Candidate Profile
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
Strategy consulting (MBB, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, Kearney, LEK, EY-Parthenon, etc.)
Technology strategy, AI strategy, or data strategy consulting
Enterprise AI transformation strategy
Digital transformation strategy or operating model design
Private Equity technology value creation
Hyperscaler strategy roles (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft)
Typical current titles include:
Director
Principal
Associate Partner
Senior Manager (ready to step into Director)
Ideal Background
Candidates will typically have:
10+ years’ experience in strategy consulting or technology strategy roles
Experience advising senior executives on technology, AI, or digital strategy
Strong commercial and client leadership capability
Experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation strategy
Highly relevant backgrounds include:
Strategy consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Oliver Wyman, Strategy&, etc.)
Big 4 strategy practices
AI and technology strategy boutiques
Hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Microsoft)
Enterprise AI strategy leadership roles
