Team Description

The Premium Data Science team plays a pivotal role in driving LinkedIn Premium subscription businesses, delivering value to consumers across Career, Business, Company Page, Sales, and Recruiter ecosystems.

We leverage cutting-edge machine learning / AI and data-driven insights to inform business strategies, optimize monetization efforts and product performance, and support innovative initiatives that help 10 million Premium members achieve their goals and drive Premium growth. Working closely with product management, engineering, marketing, finance and other cross-functional partners, our contributions drive huge business impact in a high-tempo, high-growth environment.

In this Sr Staff DS role, you will act as a thought tech leader to identify business opportunities, drive Premium acquisition and retention, optimize product performance, and coach junior ICs. You will solve complex problems and champion innovative approaches. You will conduct deep dive analysis, design business metrics, craft compelling data stories and actionable recommendations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence business roadmaps and decision-making.

Responsibilities

Build and optimize data solutions / AI models for user acquisition, engagement, and retention to drive Premium subscription growth.
Personalize the upsell targeting and new subscribers’ onboarding experiences, delivering tailored content and experiences to Premium members.
Conduct advanced analytics to identify business opportunities and growth levers, uncover member needs and customize member experiences.
Provide actionable insights to influence Premium business roadmaps and guide strategic decision-making for product offering & development, pricing, and go-to-market.
Act as a thought tech leader within the DS team and for cross-functional partners, driving strategic decisions and fostering collaboration across technical and non-technical disciplines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven strategies and deliver end-to-end solutions.
Mentor and guide junior data scientists to foster talent growth and skill development.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor or higher degree in a quantitative discipline
7+ years of relevant work experience
Experience influencing cross-function teams and business strategy through data-driven insights and stories. Can push back when needed
Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Scala).
Deep understanding and experience of statistical analysis, experimentation (A/B testing) and measurement, and advanced analytics techniques.
Remarkable problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach business challenges analytically and creatively
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives and compile compelling narratives.
