Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong AI and data experience to support the discovery, design, and delivery of AI‑enabled solutions within a complex organisational environment. The role will work closely with product, engineering, data science, architecture, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into clear, actionable requirements that enable the effective use of AI, automation, and advanced analytics.
The successful candidate will bring a blend of traditional BA capability and modern AI literacy, with experience working across the full delivery lifecycle in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business analysis activities across AI‑enabled products and platforms, from discovery through to delivery and benefits realisation.
Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, user needs, and process flows for AI, data, and digital solutions.
Work with stakeholders to identify AI use cases, assess feasibility, value, and risk, and define success measures.
Translate business problems into clear functional and non‑functional requirements, including data, model, ethical, and governance considerations.
Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and architects to ensure requirements are technically feasible and aligned to business intent.
Define and maintain artefacts such as:
Business and process models (AS‑IS / TO‑BE)
User stories and acceptance criteria
Data requirements and information flows
Model inputs, outputs, and decision logic (at an appropriate level)
Support product owners with backlog refinement, prioritisation, and roadmap planning.
Ensure AI solutions meet regulatory, ethical, and governance standards, including transparency, explainability, and responsible AI principles.
Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to drive alignment, decision‑making, and change adoption.
Support testing, UAT, and rollout, ensuring delivered solutions meet defined business outcomes.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Business Analysis
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in complex digital, data, or technology programmes.
Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills (user stories, use cases, BPMN, etc.).
Experience working in Agile / Scrum / product‑led delivery environments.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior and executive levels.
AI / Data Experience
Hands‑on experience working on AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives.
Strong understanding of:
AI and ML concepts (e.g. supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, predictive models)
Data pipelines, data quality, and data dependencies
Model lifecycle considerations (training, testing, deployment, monitoring)
Experience defining requirements for AI‑driven decisioning, insights, or automation use cases.
Familiarity with AI governance, ethics, and risk, including bias, explainability, and auditability.
Technical & Analytical Skills
Comfortable working with technical teams and understanding architectural and data constraints.
Ability to analyse complex datasets or model outputs to support business decision‑making.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or similar BA and product tooling.
Desirable Experience
Experience with Generative AI use cases (e.g. copilots, chatbots, document automation).
Exposure to cloud‑based data and AI platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP).
Experience in regulated environments (e.g. government, financial services, healthcare).
Knowledge of data protection, privacy, and compliance considerations.
Formal BA or product certifications (e.g. BCS, IIBA, Scrum).
