Job Specifications

Backend Engineer (.NET) – Contract (Outside IR35) | Immediate Start

Location: South-West London (2 days per week onsite)

Contract Length: 3 months initially, with strong possibility of extension

Day Rate: Up to £500 (Outside IR35)

We’re looking for experienced Backend Engineers to support the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance backend systems. You’ll work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to build and evolve APIs and services that underpin a modern, cloud-based platform.

This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment and contribute immediately to architecture, development, and problem-solving.

What You’ll Be Doing

Build and scale high-performance backend services and APIs
Design robust .NET architectures for a cloud-based platform
Write clean, testable, production-ready code
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise backend systems
Work closely with frontend engineers, product, and stakeholders
Improve performance, reliability, and availability
Create reusable components and libraries

Skills & Experience

Strong experience with C# / .NET (6–10)
Solid API and microservices experience (OpenAPI/Swagger)
Experience with SQL Server and Azure Cosmos DB
Knowledge of Microsoft Graph API and Microsoft 365
Experience integrating third-party APIs
Cloud experience: Azure / AWS / GCP
Comfortable in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments
