Responsibilities:

Advising on compliance with existing and emerging privacy law frameworks in the US
Advising on a range of data privacy issues including HIPAA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, FERPA, FCRA/FACTA, COPPA and state privacy laws.
Developing compliance plans and negotiating information privacy-compliant agreements.
Handling regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security issues.
Collaborating with clients and internal teams to develop and implement privacy policies and procedures.
Drafting and reviewing privacy-related agreements, such as data protection agreements and terms of service.
Conducting privacy impact assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating risks.
Staying current with global privacy regulations and emerging trends in cybersecurity.
Representing clients in negotiations and regulatory proceedings related to privacy and cybersecurity.

Candidate requirements:

2+ years of Data Privacy Law Experience
Strong knowledge of existing and emerging data privacy and information security laws such as the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead and manage significant projects
Tech fluency and understanding of cyber and privacy issues
Client engagement and relationship-building skills
Portable Business would be ideal but not a necessity

Certifications:

CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or other relevant privacy certifications strongly preferred.
Candidates must be admitted in the state they reside.
