Location: London 3 days, home 2 days

A UK bank with ambitious growth plans is looking for a Compliance Director to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a mission-driven bank that’s lent billions to UK and US businesses, helped create tens of thousands of new homes and jobs, and continues to fuel the economy through smart, responsible growth. You’ll lead the Compliance Advisory function across key areas — Personal Savings, Business Banking, and Commercial Lending.

The role:

Lead a talented team providing pragmatic, risk-based advice.
Shape the compliance advisory framework, ensuring it aligns with regulatory obligations and commercial goals.
Work directly with senior leaders and front-line teams to embed compliance into every part of the business.
Use Generative AI tools to drive smarter, more efficient compliance processes.
Represent compliance at the top table — influencing strategy and regulatory engagement.

Your experience:

A seasoned UK compliance professional with UK banking experience (e.g. SYSC, SMCR, and Consumer Duty)
US regulation a bonus
Able to translate complex regulation into clear, actionable advice.
Previous experience managing people.
