Job Title: Lead Azure DevOps Engineer
Rate: £500 (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6Months
Location: Remote
Clearance: SC Eligible

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS/Azure) following government and departmental standards.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Pulumi).
Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, alerting, and performance tuning.
Contribute to secure-by-default environments, applying security best practices and collaborating with cyber teams.
Support containerised applications using Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes/EKS/AKS).
Automate operational processes and reduce manual overhead wherever possible.
Provide technical expertise during incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote DevOps culture and continuous improvement.
Contribute to architectural discussions and platform strategy.
Essential Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
Strong Infrastructure as Code knowledge (Terraform preferred).
Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Proficiency with Linux systems engineering and Shell scripting.
Understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Experience implementing robust security practices in cloud and DevOps environments.
Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
Experience working in public sector or regulated environments.
Knowledge of GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and the Technology Code of Practice.
Familiarity with Zero Trust, IAM, and secrets management.
Experience with serverless architectures.
Background working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
