Position Description
This is a high-impact role for a professional who thrives on shaping strategy while rolling up their sleeves to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.
Operational & Process Excellence
Partner with senior leaders to set transformation goals, metrics, and clear roadmaps.
Reimagine and streamline core manufacturing processes to reduce waste, compress cycle times, and boost throughput.
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles to modernize shop-floor practices.
Champion automation and digitization initiatives, including data collection, performance tracking, and dashboard reporting.
Lead cross-functional programs aligned with strategic priorities and deliver measurable cost, quality, and efficiency gains.
Translate complex operational data into actionable insights that inform decision making at every level.
Culture & Continuous Improvement
Cultivate a culture built on safety, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
Build and refine training, communication, and engagement strategies that secure employee buy-in and foster change adoption.
Promote Lean and Six Sigma projects that drive OEE improvements, reduce scrap, and elevate production flow.
Ensure all processes comply with relevant safety and quality regulations.
Business Alignment & Documentation
Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to craft and execute transformation roadmaps.
Develop and maintain SOPs, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
Remove operational bottlenecks and foster seamless inter-departmental communication.
Implement and monitor key performance metrics to track progress and outcomes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Direct cross-functional teams, guiding them to achieve critical milestones.
Monitor and report KPIs such as productivity, scrap rates, downtime, and delivery performance.
Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to plant leadership and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on process engineering experience within PET plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or thermoforming environments.
Deep practical knowledge of PET sheet extrusion processes as well as thermoforming production methods.
Well-versed in regulatory standards and compliance requirements for food packaging, including those set out by FDA, CFIA, CSA, and OHSA.
Proven track record leading manufacturing or process-improvement initiatives.
Strong command of Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous-improvement tools.
Ability to translate data into clear action plans that deliver measurable results.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Adaptability and the willingness to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
