Senior Ab Initio Developer
Location: Glasgow (2-3 days on-site)
Rate: +- PS400 per day
We're looking for a Senior Ab Initio Developer with deep expertise in Real Time data processing to join one of our leading financial services organisation on a contract.
You'll be responsible for designing and optimising high-performance data integration solutions using Ab Initio GDE, Continuous Flows (CF), and Messaging Queues (MQ) to support Real Time analytics and mission-critical applications.
What You'll Do
Design and develop Ab Initio-based ETL solutions focused on Real Time data flows.
Work closely with data architects and analysts to turn complex data needs into scalable solutions.
Optimise and troubleshoot high-volume, low-latency pipelines.
Integrate data flows with Kafka, MQ, or other streaming platforms.
Maintain clear technical documentation and participate in code reviews and deployments.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security at every stage.
Mentor junior developers and champion Ab Initio best practices.
What We're Looking For

7+ years' hands-on experience with Ab Initio GDE, EME, and Conduct It.
3+ years' experience with Continuous Flows and Real Time data processing.
Solid understanding of message-based architectures (IBM MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Strong Unix/Linux Scripting and SQL skills.
Experience with data modelling, warehousing, and integration.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have

Ab Initio certification.
Experience in financial services.
Familiarity with DevOps/CI/CD pipelines and Git.
