BNP Paribas Exane is the Cash Equities division of BNP Paribas Global Markets. Within this division, the Cash Equities Execution Consulting team plays a pivotal role in optimising client execution strategies, offering expert guidance on algorithm and parameter selection, and conducting in-depth market microstructure research. The position is key to developing and refining trade analysis tools and performance metrics to assess execution quality. The role also requires close collaboration with Execution Consulting colleagues in both London and New York, as well as other cash equities executions teams, including Sales-Trading, Product, Quants, Analytics and Technology.
Job Purpose
The role is to assist the team with the day-to-day business activities under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Algorithm and Parameter Selection: Research the impact of algorithm and parameter selection on trading performance.
Algorithm Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to trading algorithms based on performance analysis and client feedback.
Market Microstructure Research: Conduct comprehensive research on market microstructure to inform trading strategies and improve execution outcomes.
Data Analysis: Design and generate data extracts for Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and market microstructure research. Enhance the Execution Consulting data analytics and tools platform.
Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain performance metrics related to execution quality, ensuring clients have actionable insights on their flow.
Regular Feedback: Provide regular feedback on how the algorithms are performing against their execution criteria.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science).
Experience: In the financial industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in one or more of the following: R, Python, SQL, q/KDB, and Tableau.
Data Handling: Experience handling and analysing large real-world datasets.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
Conduct
