Job Title: Senior React Developer

Duration: Long-Term contract (Plus Extensions)

Location: Ghent, Belgium (Hybrid)

Role overview:

As a React Developer, you will be part of a young, dynamic team developing modern web and mobile applications based on Figma layouts. You will actively participate in testing applications, conducting code reviews, and contributing to a collaborative, learning-oriented environment built on a no-blame culture.
You will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, project leaders, and end users to deliver high-quality, user-friendly tools for various business units. Your role involves regular communication with internal customers, managing expectations, and providing transparent progress updates.
You are a strong communicator who enjoys mentoring colleagues and contributing to technical discussions. You thrive in a flexible, creative environment where initiative and accountability are valued. You are eager to learn, proactive about staying updated with the latest technologies, and passionate about building scalable, maintainable solutions. You will also contribute to the growth and optimization of our Monorepo.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop and maintain responsive web and mobile applications using React and related frameworks.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate Figma layouts into functional, aesthetic front-end solutions.
Participate in regular code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through testing frameworks and CI/CD practices.
Contribute to the Monorepo and ensure consistency across components and applications.
Stay updated with emerging front-end trends and share knowledge with the team through technical working groups.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding project progress and deliverables.

Essential Skills:

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in React or React Native development.
Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
Expertise in Tailwind CSS and CSS.
Experience with Storybook, React Query, Expo, React Testing Library, and Cypress.
Familiarity with NX Monorepo and Figma-based development workflows.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git/GitHub Actions.
Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.

Good-to-have Skills:

Experience with Azure or cloud-based deployment.
Knowledge of Continuous Deployment and Integration best practices.
Background in contributing to open-source or cross-team Monorepo environments.

Languages:

Dutch or French - Native/Bilingual proficiency
English - Full professional proficiency
