Job Title: Data Protection Assistant Role Summary: Supports the Data Protection Officer in managing data protection compliance, investigating breaches, and administering privacy requests to ensure adherence to the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. Expectations: Demonstrates high accuracy, strong communication with senior stakeholders, proactive decision‑making, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines under pressure while maintaining confidentiality. Key Responsibilities - Assist with investigations, assessments and reporting of data breaches, including root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation. - Execute daily compliance audits of the CRM system and manage the data protection inbox. - Handle data erasure, rectification, and restriction processing requests. - Oversee the end‑to‑end EIR process, ensuring internal issuance and regulated response compliance. - Manage SAR processing: initial review, data localisation, collation, transcription, redaction, and response preparation. - Collate data for internal and external reporting, including monthly breach reports. - Assess supplier compliance through the procurement tool and manage risk escalation. - Maintain version control of data protection policies and procedures on the Document Management System. - Support training initiatives, distribute bulletins, monitor e‑training compliance, and report findings to management. - Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider Company Secretarial department. Required Skills - Strong understanding of confidentiality and handling of personal, confidential and special information. - Proven experience in data handling, planning, collation and organisation. - Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of engaging senior stakeholders. - High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to multitask under tight deadlines. - Initiative, proactive decision‑making, and ability to work independently. - Customer‑facing experience and background in compliance or data protection. - Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
