Job title: Infrastructure Manager
Role Summary: Lead and oversee a systems administration and infrastructure team of approximately eight people, driving strategy, governance, and delivery across Linux, Kubernetes, networking, virtualisation, and configuration management platforms (Ansible, Puppet).
Expectations: • Manage day‑to‑day operations while shaping long‑term infrastructure strategy and architecture.
• Provide agile leadership, including mentoring, performance reviews, and resource planning.
• Ensure high availability, security compliance, and cost‑effective budgeting for infrastructure investments.
Key Responsibilities: • Direct the design, deployment, and maintenance of Linux servers, containers, and virtual machines.
• Govern configuration management, automation pipelines, and CI/CD workflows using Ansible, Puppet, and Docker.
• Oversee Kubernetes clusters, ensuring scalability, resilience, and effective rollout of workloads.
• Plan and manage datacenter and cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, and backup solutions.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and capacity forecasting.
• Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis for critical infrastructure events.
• Manage procurement, vendor relationships, and budgeting for hardware, software, and services.
• Communicate status, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
Required Skills: • 5+ years commercial experience in infrastructure or systems administration.
• Proven team‑leadership and management experience.
• Advanced Linux administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, firewall, VPN) and security best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, Docker.
• Proficiency in configuration management (Ansible, Puppet).
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM), storage, and datacenter operations.
• Strong stakeholder‑management, budgeting, and procurement skills.
Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications preferred: RHCE, K8s administrator, VMware Certified Professional, Red Hat Ansible Automation Engineer.
