Data Engineering Analyst.

1 Presidents Choice Circle, Brampton, ON

The Data Engineering team at Loblaw is seeking a Data Analyst with background in data analytics, cloud, and relational databases.

As the Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to support large data initiatives by applying your expertise in acquiring, analyzing, and manipulating data to identify insights and data patterns. Candidate will be responsible for crafting and maintaining data requirements, transformations, and system documentation.

What You’ll Do:

Collaborating with business stakeholders and agile teams to understand complex business problems and translate them into clear business and technical requirements for data-driven solutions.
Designing and executing the end-to-end data lifecycle, including extraction, transformation (ETL), analysis, and modeling of large datasets.
Converting raw data into actionable insights suitable for presentation to various business audiences to support strategic decision-making using SQL, Python.
Proactively identifying opportunities to optimize business processes, improve data architecture, and enhance the performance and efficiency of data systems.
Developing and maintaining clear technical documentation, including UML diagrams, to support data architecture, processes, and solutions.

What you Bring:

Advanced proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries for data extraction from diverse sources.
Demonstrated experience with data extraction, manipulation, and mining from large relational databases using sophisticated tools (e.g., GCP, Teradata).
Proven ability to conduct business analysis and translate requirements from non-technical stakeholders into clear technical specifications.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills to tackle complex business challenges.
Prior experience within the retail industry is considered a strong asset.
