Fearless is seeking a senior-level individual contributor role focused on developing and maintaining the data infrastructure used to monitor and protect the Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) fund. You will work with the Data Architect to build pipelines that consolidate data from Salesforce, a Ruby on Rails application, and external sources into an AWS environment for the purpose of fraud detection and program analysis.

At Fearless, the Senior Consultant is an expert in data analysis, engineering, and science. This role will possess the necessary skills at an advanced level of proficiency to drive organizational transformation by architecting scalable data platforms, building advanced machine learning solutions, and mentoring customers and teams to become data-driven organizations. The role involves working with executives, project teams, and internal leaders across departments to identify opportunities where data can accelerate missions, create efficiencies, and deliver technical excellence.

Your Responsibilities In This Role

Data Integration: Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue (Python/Spark) and SQL to ingest data from Salesforce APIs and Ruby on Rails (PostgreSQL) databases.
Fraud Detection Engineering: Develop data models and logic to identify high-risk patterns, including identity theft, duplicate claims across accounts, and suspicious changes to banking information.
Forensic Data Analysis: Use SQL and Python to conduct deep-dive analyses on claim behavior, identifying anomalies such as IP address clusters, disposable email domains, and inconsistent wage reporting.
Automated Monitoring: Create and maintain automated alerts in AWS Redshift or Athena to flag potential improper payments before they are processed.
Data Auditing: Implement strict versioning and logging within the data lake to ensure all data used for integrity investigations is traceable and immutable.
Regulatory Compliance: Manage data masking and encryption for sensitive PII/PHI to meet HIPAA and state privacy requirements.
