One exciting Regular Full-Time permanent opportunity as a Women's Age Lab Research Manager exists in the Women's Age Lab reporting to Dr. Rachel Savage. This role will support the activities of Women's Age Lab

Summary Of Duties, But Not Limited To

Strategy

Works independently to develop research priorities and implement a strategic plan for Women’s Age Lab
Develops and manages strategic partnerships consistent with the organization’s strategic goals, including community and lived-experience partnerships
Propose activities and projects for Women’s Age Lab, including opportunities to support the profile of the program and to leverage impact
Coordinates and executes strategic projects with partners (knowledge products, events and dissemination activities, etc.)

Research management

Develop and provide oversight for research operations across Women’s Age Lab, including staffing, budgets, and grants and contracts held by scientists within the portfolio
Ensures effective human resource allocation through recruitment, training, and performance management
Provides direct supervision of assigned research staff and research trainees
Supports the development and writing of grant proposals for new research activities, including seeking out novel granting opportunities
Coordinates grant applications, including overseeing all elements of grant preparation, review and submission
Oversees the preparation and submission of all research-related reporting
Reviews manuscripts and proposals of investigators
Oversees the preparation of REB applications
Reviews Data Transfer Agreements and Research Agreements with investigators and other internal/external stakeholders (research service departments, external study sites, etc.)
Coordinates weekly research lab meetings, including planning schedule, documentation, slides, minutes etc
Assists with knowledge translation activities, which includes presenting at seminars and conferences
Track metrics and progress, and ensure appropriate resource allocation to achieve the goals of the portfolio
As a role model and champion, works to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care

Qualifications/Skills

Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health sciences, health services or public policy [or equivalent])
PhD preferred
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible and related experience in research coordination and/or management
Strong health research background and knowledge of Ontario health system and/or knowledge/understanding of other health systems/international evidence
Highly developed project management skills, with the ability to manage study timelines and supervise/manage project staff, ensuring deadlines are met
Strong supervision and mentorship experience of research staff and trainees
Demonstrated success in preparation and submission of manuscripts to scientific journals and grant proposals
to federal granting agencies
Demonstrated experience presenting research findings at invited meetings and conferences, to decision makers and to the public; academic publication experience preferred
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary and team environment
Strong oral, written and presentation skills
Strong computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and databases
Good work and attendance record required
