Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Advisor to join their team on a contract opportunity in Calgary.
High Level Description
The Quality Assurance Advisor is responsible for providing effective quality solutions, and guidance to ensure safe, fit for purpose and technical quality solutions, consistently enabling projects and existing operations. Success is evidenced by adherence to adopted procedures, processes and guidelines as well as compliance to applicable regulatory requirements, enablement of safe and efficient installation of equipment as well as operations and executed projects .
Maintain and Update list of Quality Approved Suppliers and Liase with ISN.
Specific Accountabilities
Leadership
Leading by example by adhering to the relevant Quality Assurance requirements.
Encourage external and internal personnel in to better understanding the importance of Quality Assurance
Creating an environment of and encouraging development of individuals in Quality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure all suppliers and TPI’s are performing duties in conformance with company's contractual requirements.
Project and Operational Technical Support
Provide Quality oversight of projects through the engagement of the Technical Services teams, PMO teams, and SCM teams with the objective of ensuring that quality steps are taken to ensure designs of projects are safe, operable and meet company technical standards.
Provide Quality inputs to QA and Tech Services team in preparing and updating specifications.
Ensure that Quality Assurance support is provided to support Facility Operations, Maintenance and Asset/Operations Engineering.
Determine areas of potential improvement in supplier’s quality in consultation with Sr QA Advisor, facilitate the implementation of improvements to address these areas.
Risk Management
Support the management of risk at sites and supplier’s locations by promoting and assisting with Quality Assurance knowledge, development, and support
Ensure compliance to regulations, specifications, codes, and standards
Promote a safety culture and support the visible leadership program by establishing goals for site and fabricator shop visits/walk-arounds with a safety focus and target no vehicle incidents
Continual Improvement
Consider feedback from the sites and suppliers for improvements to the QA processes, standards and guidelines currently in place.
Scope/Dimensions
Quality assurance of projects and MOC’s through the engagement of the suppliers, third party inspector as well as company's inspectors
Ensure to the fullest extent practicable, that Quality or regulatory requirements are being followed or risk is being adequately identified and mitigated.
Build & Deliver Technical Excellence through technical standards, specifications, corporate programs, procedures and guidelines.
Provide Quality requirements, direction, within the company's Project Delivery System that will ensure the Quality requirements are consistently and predictably delivered in a safe, cost-effective, and good quality manner.
Work with other company business units to understand in order to meet all their QA requirements including documents turnover, CRN requirements, regulatory requirements
Facilitate Pre-Qualification and/or Performance Audits on Suppliers/Contractors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Diploma of Welding Engineer, Mechanical, Metallurgy or similar discipline with eligible or willing to eligible for CET designation in the province of Alberta.
FAT (Flexible, Attitude, Teachable).
Some of the important skill set expected from a QA Advisor are:
Communication skills-verbal, written to report standard.
Strong coordination/organizational skills with ability to identify and prioritize critical tasks and deliverables.
