The Company
Hospitals still run their most important operations — staffing, labor planning, and capacity — on paper, spreadsheets, and guesswork. It’s a system that wastes thousands of hours and millions of dollars every year.
Vitalize replaces this with intelligent, automated staffing operations. Our platform brings real-time decision support to clinical leaders, eliminating manual work, reducing unnecessary labor spend, and unlocking patient capacity for hospitals.
We’re building the core operating system for hospital workforce operations — competing directly with legacy HR/ERP platforms. And we’re winning. We’re already live across 20+ hospitals, near 8-figures in revenue, and have raised funding from top investors. We’ve 3x’ed revenue in the last 3 months, and are scaling fast.
The Role:
As a designer at Vitalize, your role is to directly reduce the manual work that goes into managing nurse staffing, modernizing how hospitals run and allowing nurses and clinical leaders to focus on real patient care.
You’ll be the 2nd product designer at Vitalize, working directly with our founding designer. As the product grows in surface area and complexity, your job is to turn data-heavy workflows into designs that feel simple, intuitive, and delightful.
Design at Vitalize is not created from requirements handed down from a traditional PM — we uncover product needs through ongoing user research, close collaboration with engineering, and shared context across the team to shape workflows together. You won’t just be designing features — you’ll help define what product at Vitalize becomes as we scale.
What You’ll Do:
Own end-to-end design for core product areas
Design the core desktop and mobile interfaces that nurses and managers rely on to coordinate schedules, fill gaps, and keep hospitals running smoothly
Partner closely with engineers during the design process
Build and maintain a scalable design system, and level up design at Vitalize
Create and maintain reusable components and patterns in Figma
Improve structure to current design systems so designs scale cleanly
Continuous user research and validation
Partner directly with nurses and clinical leaders early during discovery to uncover needs, validate pain points, and shape product direction before anything is built.
Occasionally travel to customer sites to conduct in-person research, observe workflows, and build context first-hand.
Run ongoing research and feedback loops after launch to identify friction points and iterate to improve clarity, adoption, and impact over time.
Who You Are
You have 4+ years of product design experience with complex or workflow-heavy products**,** ideally in B2B SaaS.
You have strong UX instincts paired with a high bar for details and visual taste
You have experience in creating design systems, and see early-stage as an opportunity to improve processes as the product scales
You’re excited by opportunities for research and are comfortable traveling to customer sites to observe workflows, run usability sessions, and build first-hand understanding.
You’re energized by ownership and creative freedom, and take responsibility for decisions from discovery through delivery
Healthcare Experience Is a Plus, But Not Required.
Benefits:
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401k and 401k match
Flexible PTO
Bi-annual company retreats
Free Lunch and Dinner in-office
Reimbursement for desk setup, gym subscription, and commute
Compensation Range: $170K - $250K
