Key Responsibilities:-
Delivery & Execution
• Own end to end delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring scope, timelines, quality, and reliability commitments are met.
• Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and execute roadmaps and release schedules.
• Identify delivery risks early and proactively mitigate dependencies, blockers, and operational issues.
• Establish and monitor delivery metrics, KPIs, and engineering health indicators.
Technical & Development Leadership
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, drawing on a strong software development background.
• Review system designs, architecture decisions, and code quality standards to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Support engineers in solving complex technical problems and making sound technical trade offs.
• Promote best practices in software engineering, testing, and documentation.
DevOps & Operational Excellence
• Drive adoption of DevOps principles, including CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Ensure production stability, security, and performance through collaboration with DevOps and platform teams.
• Embed reliability, scalability, and operational readiness into the development lifecycle.
• Champion continuous improvement through automation, tooling, and process optimization.
People & Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and develop high performing engineering teams through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Support talent development, career growth, and succession planning within the engineering organization.
• Create an inclusive and psychologically safe team environment that encourages innovation.
Mandatory (Top 3) Skill Sets:-
1. Delivery Leadership & Program Execution
o Strong ownership of end-to-end delivery (planning, prioritization, execution, release readiness)
o Ability to manage dependencies, risks, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
o Comfortable driving predictable outcomes using delivery metrics (velocity, throughput, lead time, etc.)
2. Software Engineering Leadership (Development Background)
o Solid engineering foundation to guide technical decisions, architecture tradeoffs, and code quality
o Ability to coach engineers, conduct design/code reviews at a high level, and enforce engineering standards
o Strong understanding of modern development practices (testing strategies, CI, clean code, maintainability)
3. DevOps & Operational Excellence Mindset
o Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, infrastructure-as-code principles, and reliability practices
o Ability to drive production readiness, incident management practices, and continuous improvement
o Experience collaborating with platform/SRE teams and embedding “build it, run it” ownership
