Job Title: Lead Fullstack Developer

Clearance Required: SC Clearance

Location: UK (Remote)

Contract Length: 12 Months (with scope to extend)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Fullstack Developer to join a high-profile programme within a secure environment. This role requires active SC Clearance.

You will lead a team of senior and mid-level engineers while remaining hands-on across the full technology stack. The position combines technical leadership, architectural input, and close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of fullstack engineers
Contribute hands-on across backend and frontend development
Design and deliver scalable, secure Java-based services
Collaborate with product, delivery, and non-technical stakeholders
Promote engineering best practices including TDD and CI/CD
Support DevOps processes and cloud-native deployment in AWS
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong Java experience (Spring Boot)
Experience with relational databases (Postgres or similar SQL databases)
Docker and containerised application deployment
Test-driven development (JUnit, Mockito or equivalent frameworks)
CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins or similar)
Experience working within Agile delivery teams
Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical teams
