About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing Canadian tech company with a strong focus on AI and mobile consumer products. With millions of registered users and a top-rated app on both iOS and Google Play, they're scaling quickly and hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to help build what comes next.

You'll write code daily, lead by example on engineering quality, and ship features across web, mobile, and data platforms. You'll partner with Product, Design, and ML to make sure what gets built makes sense and is done right. We hire for ability and potential over a checklist of skills.

What You'll Do
Own complex features end to end, from design through rollout and iteration.
Contribute to and grow into data platform work including pipelines, ETL/ELT, and real-time data flows.
Set engineering standards through solid design docs and thorough code reviews.
Tackle high-leverage technical problems (performance, scalability, tech debt) with pragmatic solutions.
Mentor and unblock engineers across teams. Support hiring when needed.
Partner cross-functionally on roadmaps and trade-offs.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of professional software experience with real ownership of systems from concept to production.
Deep proficiency in at least one modern backend or full-stack ecosystem (TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Java/Kotlin, Go) and the ability to pick up new stacks quickly.
Strength in performance, scalability, and optimization.
Solid footing with testing, CI/CD, and observability.
Clear communicator who can align stakeholders without overcomplicating things.
Self-directed and organized in a remote-first environment.
Nice to Have
Data engineering, data pipelines, or data-heavy systems experience (faster ramp-up, not required).
Consumer-facing app/web, search/ranking, or ML integration background.
Modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Angular) or mobile delivery pipelines.
Startup or high-growth company experience.
