About This Position
The IDB Group is looking for an active graduate student to be hired as an intern under the Consultant modality.
The 2026 Summer Internship Program is a competitive paid opportunity, based in Headquarters, for university students from member countries to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.
What you’ll do
The Global Partnerships Office (GPS) is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to support partnership outreach, resource mobilization, and market intelligence activities, with a primary focus on communications. Working closely with the Resource Mobilization Division (GPS/REM) team, the intern will assist with content development, social media, partner research, and internal coordination, while gaining hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools, CRM systems, and data-driven knowledge management. This position is designed for graduate students interested in communications, international development, and digital tools.
Communications Support
Support the preparation of written communication materials, including briefings, talking points, background notes, and partner highlights.
Assist with drafting and editing content for internal communications, presentations, webpages, and publications.
Support social media content development by helping identify stories, draft posts, and track engagement.
Assist in preparing materials for events, meetings, workshops, and senior management briefings.
Perform additional relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Research & Partner Intelligence
Conduct desk research on partners, initiatives, and development trends relevant to GPS activities.
Support the compilation of partner profiles and briefing notes for outreach and engagement purposes.
Help maintain and update partner intelligence in Salesforce (CRM) to ensure accurate and organized records.
AI-Enabled Tools & Knowledge Management
Support the use of AI-based tools to gather market and partner intelligence and summarize information for communications and briefings.
Assist in organizing and maintaining a briefing content database to support efficient access to communication materials and partner information.
Help identify opportunities to improve CRM and content organization processes.
What you'll need
Education: An active graduate student in Communications, International Development, Marketing, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Journalism, Public Relations and other related fields. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
Languages: Fluency in English with a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.
Soft Skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, and excellent time management event.
Technical skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), Salesforce (CRM) is a plus. Outstanding copywriting and editing skills in both English and Spanish.
Requirements
Citizenship: Be a national of an IDB member country.
Active student: enrolled in a graduate (master’s or Ph.D.) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
First job at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation (“Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest”). In addition, you have not been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce (“CW”), contractor for the Bank or the Corporation, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.
