About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer / Backend Software Engineer with expertise in FastAPI, SQL, and data-driven application development. This is a senior, hands-on role based in London, offering the opportunity to work on a complex SaaS calculation platform designed for the rapidly expanding Cyber Security insurance market. As part of our innovative team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable backend systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. Your work will directly impact the core operations of our insurance underwriting technology, enabling clients to efficiently assess and manage cyber risk. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent coding skills, and a passion for building robust data-centric applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Python Developer, with a focus on backend development.
Strong proficiency in FastAPI for building RESTful APIs.
Extensive knowledge of SQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data management.
Experience working with cloud platforms and deployment pipelines is advantageous.
Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.

Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the SaaS platform through rigorous testing and code reviews.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.
