Role Overview
The Data Analyst will work with the analytics, marketing, and business leaders, other analysts, developers, architects, project managers and other stakeholders to design, develop and deliver custom reporting and analytics solutions for the customers in the Convenience Retail and Major oil verticals.
The Data Analyst will act as the SME for the Convenience retail and Major Oil businesses and the analytics needs of these verticals. They will be responsible for interfacing with customers to understand their needs, designing and developing the technical solutions to meet these needs, overseeing external resources to ensure timely delivery of commitments, unit testing the analytics solutions, and documenting the developed solutions. They will also be responsible for keeping these BI solutions tuned for optimal performance on an ongoing basis. This role will also work closely with marketing and CRM teams to help build/supply audiences for campaigns that will subsequently be measured for effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Build audience segments used for targeted communications/campaigns across Email, SMS and push messaging campaigns
Work with CRM team to manage audience transfers to consumer marketing platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
Function as the SME for the convenience retail and major oil verticals, the guided analytics and reporting solutions for these customers, and any custom analytics being built for customers
Function as the SME for the reporting associated with promotional services
Act as a general analytics and visualization SME
Interface with customers to understand their needs and translate them into requirements
Oversee and design, develop, test and maintain BI reports, dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
Work with the other team members to ensure that reports, templates, and dashboards meet business requirements
Assist the analytics leadership team and the operations analyst with service design, development and delivery of new services as needed
Research and recognize data issues and discrepancies represented in reports; perform the necessary validation
Create one-time reports and data extracts per request
Understands data structure to be able to create new reports
Add informative insight and analysis to distributed reports
Requirements
Strong self-starter with high learning agility

Strong customer-facing and excellent problem-solving skills
3-5 years of BI/Analytics experience
3-5 years’ experience on a BI or analytics team with a good understanding of BI principles, architecture, best practices, processes and standards
Very good knowledge of SQL
Exposure or knowledge of BI tools like Business Objects and Tableau
Exposure or knowledge of ETL technics and tools
Exposure or knowledge of database technologies like RedShift and Snowflake
Exposure or knowledge of CRM tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Brazen
Excellent oral and written communications skills
