Job title: Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON

Contract: 12 months

Pay Rate: $67-$70/hr depending on experience.

MUST HAVES:

Experience with version control systems and defect management tools such as Confluence, JIRA or TestRail
Experience with telephony and radio technologies such as IP based telephony, Avaya, P25, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD application) an asset

General Skills

Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities in alignment with the required level of expertise.
Strong understanding of structured methodologies for application development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
Hands-on experience using Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to support test case development.
Experience utilizing automated testing tools and version control systems across one or more platforms.
Demonstrated ability to execute functional, non-functional, and system integration testing.
Experience supporting and actively participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
Solid understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, best practices, and tools.
Experience developing comprehensive testing documentation, including test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data for both technical and business functional validation.
Practical experience in various testing types, including unit, integration, load, and performance testing.
Thorough knowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, complemented by excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
Collaborative team player with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools.

Desirable Skills

Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Experience using information retrieval tools and packages.
Understanding of testing methodologies within object-oriented environments.
Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and best practices.
Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards and regulations.
Experience planning and coordinating testing efforts for both large-scale and small-scale systems.
Experience developing and coding automated test scripts to generate automated test cases.
Experience testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
