The Atlassian Tools Administrator is a key member of the SRE organization responsible for the configuration, administration, governance, and optimization of enterprise platforms including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
This role ensures these platforms operate reliably, securely, and efficiently while supporting the organization’s Agile, DevOps, and modernization initiatives.
The administrator will partner closely with SRE, Development, Product, QA, and Infrastructure teams to streamline workflows, standardize tool usage, improve reporting visibility, and deliver platform capabilities that enhance operational performance and team efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Atlassian Administration (Jira, JSM, Confluence)
Administer and maintain Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence in a governed enterprise environment.
Design and implement workflows, screens, fields, automation rules, SLAs, permission schemes, and service catalogs.
Support Agile, Scrum, and SAFe delivery frameworks by configuring boards, templates, issue types, and release-related structures.
Optimize system performance, manage archiving, and maintain configuration consistency across projects and spaces.
Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics for engineering, product management, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Manage integrations with connected tools such as GitHub, Slack, Opsgenie, Port.io, and CI/CD platforms.
Maintain documentation, configuration standards, and operational runbooks for Atlassian tools.
Provide Tier 2/3 support for Jira/JSM/Confluence issues, workflow troubleshooting, and access-related questions.
Contribute to tool governance, change management, environment consistency, and lifecycle management for Atlassian platforms.
Lead workflow optimization initiatives, including process modernization, license rationalization, and automation improvements within the Atlassian suite.
Required Qualifications & Skills
3–6 years of hands-on experience administering Jira, Confluence, and/or Jira Service Management in an enterprise environment.
Proficiency with workflow configuration, automations, custom fields, permission schemes, and role management.
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices and how Jira supports them.
Experience with scripting or automation using JavaScript, Python, or JSON-based rule authoring is a strong plus.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
Atlassian ACP certification (ACP-JA, ACP-JSW, or Jira Service Management).
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, Jira integrations, or GitHub administration.
Exposure to SDLC workflows, SRE practices, or enterprise-scale tooling environments.
Involvement in tool consolidation, modernization efforts, or enterprise tooling standardization initiatives.
