Job Title: SC Cleared - Full Stack Engineer (Java / React)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 12 months (with scope to extend)

Work Location: UK, Remote

Interview Process: 2 stages

Clearance: Must be holding active security clearance

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer. The role focuses on building scalable backend services and modern frontend applications within an AWS-based microservices architecture.

This is a hands-on contract position requiring strong experience across Java / Spring Boot on the backend, React / Next.js on the frontend, and AWS cloud services, operating within a modern containerised and CI/CD-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build frontend applications using React and Next.js
Design and implement RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
Contribute to microservices and distributed systems architecture
Deploy and manage applications within AWS cloud environments
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised deployments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product and DevOps
Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices
Support greenfield development from design through production release

Required Skills and Experience

Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
Experience building frontend applications using React (Next.js preferred)
Proven AWS cloud experience
Strong understanding of API development and microservices architecture
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience working within distributed, remote engineering teams

Desirable

Experience in greenfield product development
Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience
Strong understanding of cloud-native design principles
