Generative AI Engineer- REMOTE Contract- UK- MUST BE UK BASED

Our client is a globally recognised, market-leading consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering complex transformation programmes across multiple sectors. They are investing heavily in advanced technologies, including Generative AI, to drive innovation and create measurable business value for their clients.

They are seeking a Generative AI Engineer to join a high-performing Tech Industrialisation Squad, delivering key technical work packages to support the industrialisation and scaling of tools developed within a major transformation programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, deployment, and operationalisation of cutting-edge generative AI solutions. You will work alongside senior AI professionals to design and implement solutions that deliver real business impact.

Key Responsibilities

AI Solution Development

Support the design and development of generative AI models and solutions across multiple projects.
Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate AI models into business processes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
Contribute to the full AI solution lifecycle, from experimentation and prototyping through to production deployment.

Coding & Implementation

Write, optimise, and maintain high-quality code for generative AI model development.
Integrate AI models into scalable, production-grade environments.
Utilise tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms (eg, Databricks, Snowflake).
Apply engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, maintainable solutions.

Data Governance & Security

Ensure compliance with internal data governance frameworks and relevant industry regulations.
Apply best practices in data privacy, security, and responsible/ethical AI.
Support the secure handling of sensitive and regulated data.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience developing and optimising generative AI models, including prompt engineering and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Solid understanding of AI/ML algorithms and deploying models within cloud environments.
Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
Knowledge of Docker and containerisation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline.
Advanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, or data engineering are advantageous.
