Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to support a growing portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects in the Antwerp region. This role has become available due to an expected increase in project volume across Q1–Q2 and the need to strengthen internal capacity as multiple utility and substation projects move from proposal into execution phase.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to a senior engineer who can work independently, guide engineering activities, and support project delivery across several concurrent projects.

Project Scope

You will be involved in multiple electrical infrastructure developments including:

New substation installations (full electrical scope from concept to delivery)
Utility installations involving MCCs, UPS systems, transformers, and pumps
Cable calculations, electrical studies, and detailed engineering design

Projects are currently in proposal and feasibility stages, with expected confirmations and workload ramp-up in the coming months. In parallel, the team is already supporting long-term planning for a key client’s 2026 programme.

Key Responsibilities

Lead basic and detailed electrical engineering activities across multiple utility and substation projects
Perform and oversee cable calculations, system sizing, and technical studies
Support projects from concept and feasibility through to implementation
Coordinate with internal teams on high-voltage elements where required
Provide technical guidance and structure to engineering activities during peak delivery periods

Required Experience & Skills

Strong background in electrical engineering within utilities or infrastructure environments
Proven experience with MCCs, UPS systems, transformers, and pump installations
Experience performing or leading cable calculations (Caneco or similar tools preferred)
Experience across both basic engineering and detailed design phases
Substation project experience preferred (HV knowledge beneficial but not essential)
Ability to operate independently and take ownership of engineering scope
Dutch language skills required (mandatory)

Project Stage

Several projects currently in client decision/proposal phase
Feasibility and detailed design to follow once projects are awarded
Long-term planning work already underway for major 2026 programmes

Expected Impact in First 6 Months

Fully integrated into team workflows and engineering processes
Providing leadership across multiple parallel projects
Independently managing engineering deliverables and calculations
Supporting peak workload periods, particularly between March and May
