Where will you be working?

The IT infrastructure of the FSMA is partially outsourced to an external IT service provider that does the setup and day to day management. The FSMA Internal System Infrastructure team collaborates intensively with this service provider to set up and run this infrastructure and keep it secure. We provide local support.

You will join a small team, close to the management, which makes short- and long-term decisions, under the direct orders of the operations manager.

Important note: being a specialist in all solutions is not required as the day-to-day management is outsourced, a generalist mindset to glue all components together is.

What does your job entail?

Network (firewall)
Security components (web application firewall, anti-DDoS, webproxy, …)
Database (SQL Server)
Storage
Servers (Windows and Linux)
Cloud infrastructure (Azure)
Workstations (Windows)
Mobile devices (Apple iOS devices)

As a member of the System Infrastructure team (4 persons) you are co-responsible for:

Collaborating with the service provider to design and set up new infrastructure or applications in a secure way (steering role)
Collaborating with the FSMA applicative IT team, FSMA business users and external service provider to implement the correct infrastructure for the business requirements and non-functional requirements like high availability and security
The day-to-day management of applicative issues together with other teams at the FSMA or service provider
Troubleshooting and technical support in collaboration with colleagues and service provider
The handling and follow-up of security incidents
The documentation of information for IT people and end users
Providing the link with the first level and third level teams

You will participate in regular and ad-hoc reporting to management. Next to this team, you will also be working closely together with the external service provider, the FSMA service desk, PC desk and the larger IT team that manages BI and application development of FSMA business.

What knowledge, experience and skills do you bring?

A Master’s degree in information technology or equivalent education
Other professional experiences in a similar IT function (server, storage, and network administration) is a plus
Proven professional experience with the management of small teams is a plus
Knowledge of Dutch and French required and a good level of English
Security mindset Investigational spirit (information will not always be preprocessed and ready to use)
Will to continuously improve
Documentation drafting (in English)Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and General IT infrastructure
An analytical mind, resistance to stress, ability to work both independently and as part of a team; good communication skills and a positive and constructive attitude
Excellent problem-solving ability
Professionalism: competence, precision and commitment to advancement
