Sony R&D Brussels Laboratory (BRL) – part of Sony’s global Digital and Transformation Platform – is seeking a lead AI engineer to join our Data Analytics team, which creates machine learning models, technologies, tools, and services for Sony business units in the entertainment domain: Music, Pictures, and Games.
This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, combining sophisticated data science and machine learning with strong software engineering, and focused on turning real business needs into scalable cloud‑based AI services.
The role suits an independent and proactive engineer with commercial experience, able to take ownership from early design to full production. You will work closely with internal customers and colleagues to understand use cases, design and implement tailored ML algorithms—particularly in graph learning—and deploy them on AWS using modern MLOps practices.
You Will
Lead the definition and evolution of the architecture and designs, bringing our AI/data analytics/machine learning models and technologies to the business through the development of Cloud AI services.
Lead initiatives to improve the performance and scalability of these Cloud AI services, including on the sides of data engineering and machine learning algorithms.
Contribute to the software development of the team’s technologies and cloud AI services.
Ensure the team’s results are of the highest quality (functional, performance, security, etc.).
You Will Bring
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or other relevant scientific field
Solid and demonstrable experience in bringing AI/Data Analytics to operational business use
Experience with machine learning, representation learning, and embedding techniques
Experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Experience in cloud service development on AWS
Excellent software engineering and programming skills in Python
Experience with graph learning, LLMs
