We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner for our public sector client based in Reading on an initial 10-month contract paying up to £31.79 per hour Inside IR35.

This role requires 3 days per week onsite in Reading, with the remaining time working remotely where appropriate.

You will need to either hold a current Security Clearance (SC) or be eligible to obtain it.

The successful Finance Business Partner will possess proven skills working with the following:

Supporting the preparation, monitoring and control of budgets and forecasts, including change control
Carrying out variance analysis and cost monitoring, providing clear commentary and recovery actions where required
Interrogating finance systems and analysing financial performance and expenditure trends
Producing cost reports, benchmarking data and financial information to support business cases and operational decisions
Building effective working relationships with budget holders and stakeholders, and presenting information at review meetings
Ensuring the quality, consistency and integrity of financial data in line with agreed procedures and controls
Supporting cost studies, cost breakdown structures and financial modelling activities
Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and service delivery through engagement with local teams
Maintaining high standards in safety, security, quality and compliance, and contributing positively within a team environment

Essential experience:

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Financial background
Experience working in a public sector or regulated environment
Familiarity with Oracle finance systems
