Business Systems Analyst – Retail (Google Workspace Automation/AppScript)

Exp: 5+ years

Loc: London (3 days/week in Office)

This role is about helping our Client (Retail Domain) move from Microsoft Excel macro-based systems to Google-based solutions. The Business Analyst will understand existing Excel-based workflows, redesign them using Google Drive, Apps Script, BigQuery, and AppSheet, and deliver replacement solutions. A key part of the role is training and empowering business users to take ownership of these tools and continue building and maintaining their own solutions within the approved Google ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary liaison between retail business stakeholders and delivery teams
Lead discovery and requirement-gathering workshops for supply chain processes
Analyse end-to-end supply chain workflows (planning, logistics, inventory, reporting) to identify automation opportunities
Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Support solution design reviews and validate delivered solutions against business outcomes
Ensure adherence to governance standards, templates, and migration patterns
Maintain documentation including process flows, requirements, and user-facing materials
Support demos and walkthroughs for business users and stakeholders

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst in enterprise environments
Proven supply chain experience within a retail organization
Hands-on expertise in requirements gathering, process modelling, and stakeholder management
Experience designing and supporting validations, business rules, and data quality controls
Working knowledge of macros and scripting (e.g., Excel macros, basic automation scripts) to support analysis and process efficiency
Ability to work effectively with offshore development teams
Experience supporting automation, workflow, or modernization initiatives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (native or fluent English)

Nice to Have

Experience with Microsoft-to-Google Workspace migrations
Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Apps Script, AppSheet, Big Query)
Exposure to citizen development or governance-led enablement models
Experience understanding legacy VBA-based processes (functional level)
