Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity AI and ML Analyst (Cyber Specialist) to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Cybersecurity AI and ML Analyst (Cyber Specialist) harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to safeguard digital infrastructure. This role is pivotal in utilizing AI and ML technologies to transform cybersecurity practices. This position requires a passion for applying AI-driven solutions to detect, predict, and prevent cyber threats, optimize system monitoring, and automate incident response protocols. You will collaborate with senior professionals to integrate advanced methodologies that align with the United States Department of Energy (DOE) cybersecurity policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Safety

Prioritize safety by adhering to safety rules, completing required training, and ensuring tasks pose no risks to individuals or systems.

AI & ML For Security Assessments And Thread Detection

Deploy AI-powered tools to analyze networks and identify security configurations that deviate from standards
Utilize machine learning algorithms to predict vulnerabilities and mitigate risks before attacks occur
Perform behavioral analysis using AI models to differentiate legitimate user activity from potential threats

Continuous Monitoring Using AI Solutions

Employ AI and ML algorithms to establish live network monitoring infrastructure, detecting and addressing anomalies dynamically
Leverage deep learning models to refine data sets for advanced anomaly detection and decision-making processes

Risk Analysis Using AI Optimization

Conduct risk assessments using machine learning-enhanced threat analysis tools to evaluate vulnerabilities prior to system deployment

AI Research and Innovation

Explore emerging AI and ML technologies to enhance cybersecurity strategies and reinforcement learning applications
Support innovation by applying techniques like natural language processing (NLP) to design adaptive threat detection systems

AI System Development and Documentation

Help implement AI-based cybersecurity infrastructure to enable automated incident responses
Generate AI-enhanced reports, compiling threat metrics and predictive analysis outcomes for stakeholder understanding

AI Education and Collaboration

Support the development of training programs that educate internal teams on using AI tools effectively
Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to refine and optimize AI models for better security outcomes

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
Demonstrated foundational knowledge (through academic, internship, or project-level exposure) of AI and Machine Learning concepts

Additional Information

Individuals not possessing a four-year degree may qualify with related education and/or experience in AI and cybersecurity functions

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Hands-on experience with popular AI and ML tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch) for cybersecurity-related tasks
Familiarity with deploying machine learning models for threat analysis, predictive risk management, or anomaly detection
Basic understanding of cybersecurity standards like NIST and capabilities for integrating AI with compliance frameworks
Demonstrated experience with AI platforms for monitoring, predictive analysis, or automation
