Job Title : Data Center Engineer

About the Role
Client is looking for a proactive, detail oriented, and service driven Data Center Network Associate to support operations within our Data Center environment. The role focuses on hands and eyes support, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) administration, and coordination with network, server, and vendor teams to ensure stable and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
Data Center Operations & Governance
Support audit related activities including documentation, record maintenance, and responding to audit queries.
Maintain accurate and up to date information within DCIM tools (e.g., DCTrack) related to:
Power usage and distribution
Asset and serial number management
Rack, cabinet, and equipment placement
Ticket & Request Management
Manage and prioritize work orders from the ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar).
Accept, validate, close, or redirect service tickets as required.
Escalate critical or time sensitive issues to the relevant internal teams.
Data Center Hardware Support
Deploy, install, and cable cabinets including equipment placement and power setup.
Install, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
Support initial configuration activities, including iDRAC/management port setup.
Assist Network Engineering and Server Engineering teams with hands on tasks and guided configurations.
Infrastructure Support
Handle server, storage, and other infrastructure deployments.
Support troubleshooting activities based on direction from engineering leads.
Maintain structured cabling standards and perform cable management following best practices.
Vendor Coordination
Coordinate with external Data Center vendors for service activities, repair work, and operational needs.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
Experience in structured wiring, cabling, and cable management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with cross functional teams.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience using tools such as Microsoft Office and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends or holidays as operationally required.
High attention to detail and willingness to follow established processes.
Preferred
Familiarity with DCIM tools (such as DCTrack).
Basic understanding of networking concepts and server hardware.
Experience in a Data Center environment.
