I am pleased to share an exciting opportunity with you, working for our client as a Commercial Officer. This role places you at the heart of the Defence industry’s procurement activities, offering a dynamic environment where your expertise in sourcing, sales, and contract management will be highly valued.

Role Overview

Contract Length: 12 months
Location: Salisbury or Fareham – hybrid with occasional travel
IR35: In Scope
Pay Rate: £400+/day
Security Clearance: Active SC clearance

Your Responsibilities

Advise on acquisition strategies for procurement’s alongside project staff.
Lead competitive or single-source procurement’s, including complex contract negotiations.
Manage higher value or complex contracts and implement authorised changes.
Provide oversight for commercial sales activities.
Share best practices and engage in developing safe working practices.
Mentor and train within the Civil Service framework, enhancing personal development.

Essential Skills

In-depth experience working independently in a commercial role focusing on procurement and contract management.
The ability to identify suitable commercial approaches and assess trade-offs and risks.
Keen commercial judgement and decision-making at tender evaluation stage.
Proficiency in monitoring supplier performance and contract-related systems.

Desirable Qualifications

MCIPS certification
DV Clearance
Experience with Research, and Development
Proficiency in Oracle / Microsoft Office
