Who We Are

Female Rage is a DC-based, small-batch hot sauce company focused on producing high-quality, flavorful hot sauces made with locally sourced ingredients. We're on a mission to disrupt the hyper-masculine hot sauce status quo with a bold, feminist perspective that prioritizes heat AND flavor and reclaims women's anger as powerful and productive. Reproductive justice is a pillar of our brand, and we proudly make quarterly donations to the DC Abortion Fund. We believe that abortion isn't a bad word, and abortion bans worsen and perpetuate systemic oppression and economic insecurity for people of color.

We're on the hunt for a social media and community engagement intern with a knack for storytelling, content creation and relationship building. This is a Washington, D.C. based, part-time paid internship with an hourly rate of $20/hour with a cap of 20 hours/week starting June 8 and ending on August 21 (flexible). You'll also get an unlimited supply of hot sauce!

How to Apply

Email a resume that includes your social handles AND links to two of your favorite TikToks/Reels to emily@femaleragehotsauce.com. Encouraged but not required: Link to an existing digital portfolio. All candidates will receive an update on next steps by March 6th

Who You Are

Digital Native: You live on TikTok and Instagram, are ahead of the trends, and can always spot an opportunity for a good meme.

Equity Focused and Open: You are knowledgeable on the framework of reproductive justice and understand that people of color and the LGBTQ+ community experience the greatest systemic oppression and structural barriers to health care and economic security. You are also proudly pro-choice and happy to talk about it!

Witty & Sharp: You know how to write punchy, sassy, and relatable copy.

Self Starter: You feel comfortable taking initiative, and can execute projects from start to finish with minimal interaction from your supervisor (e.g. You have an idea for a "POV: You’re replacing your ex’s watered-down hot sauce with Female Rage" TikTok, create the video on your own, and send the finished edit to your supervisor with the message: "This is trending, can I post?")

What You'll Do

Content Creation and Storytelling: Conceptualize, film, and edit a variety of short form content (TikTok and Reels), design graphics and memes, and create Instagram stories.

Community Building and Management: Engage with our followers by replying to comments (validate, banter, match the energy!) and interact with other social accounts aligned with our values. Seek out and strategize partnerships and/or collaborations with like-minded figures, brands, and local businesses.

On-Site Content Capture: (Occasionally) attend farmers markets and events to capture "(wo)man-on-the-street" style content, genuine customer reactions to the sauce for TikTok and IG Stories, and behind the scenes content.

Admin: Ensure our event calendar, store locator, and website are up to date. Coordinate with market and event managers.

About the Company

We are rooted in reproductive justice, and are unapologetic in our belief that abortion bans are an attack on our bodies, our families, and our futures, especially for women of color.
