Full Stack Software Engineer

San Francisco (On-Site)

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will span from data pipelines, scraping, and strong backend systems, to engaging front-end and product experiences with gamification and growth loops.

You’ll own building systems that collect, structure, and serve data, while also crafting delightful user-facing flows that feel consumer-like and game-like. You’ll move fast, operate in ambiguity, and shape the direction of our product from early days.

Day-to-day, you'll work across two main areas:

Front end: Build applications for internal operations teams to manage data creation projects AND external expert-facing tools where hired experts annotate, contribute, and view data. Future work includes gamification elements like quizzes, taste games, reward flows, and leaderboards.
Back end: Handle batch processing of data - processing gathered data, synthetically generating data, and evaluating data. Build robust pipelines that run across workers to speed up operations dealing with thousands of generations and parallel AI operations. Set up inference/serving infrastructure, vector databases, and API serving at scale for clients with millions of requests.

You'll architect full-stack features end-to-end (API design, backend logic, frontend UI), collaborate with researchers and creative experts to scope features, and operate in early-stage mode wearing many hats. The work is scrappy, and requirements vary by project - you'll build custom systems for each client with different needs.

Future-looking work includes multimodal features, gamification of data collection experiences, share extensions that capture screens, personalization/style mapping/tagging, and potentially building APIs that other products use to gather taste or augment their models.
