Who We Are

Founded in 1997 by Joyce and Bryce Gibson, Direct Soccer is the UK’s leading specialist in custom football teamwear. A family-owned business, we support grassroots clubs across the country with the fastest fulfilment in the industry. We’re proud to be the number one UK partner for adidas, Mitre, and Joma, and in the top-tier for Nike.

We’re a fast-growing SME known for embracing bold ideas and using technology to work smarter. From our AI-driven inventory planning to Scotland’s first AutoStore robotic warehouse, we continually invest in innovative solutions that make us more efficient, scalable, and future-ready. Our bespoke website is the most advanced in the teamwear industry, enabling full kit customisation online without customer service involvement.

As part of the AI Readiness Programme with Scottish Enterprise, we’re exploring new AI applications across our operations, giving you hands-on exposure to cutting-edge tools and ideas.

Our commitment to innovation has been widely recognised. At the Courier Business Awards 2025, we were shortlisted in several categories, including Innovation & Technology, and proudly won Medium to Large Business and Overall Business of the Year.

Our culture is down-to-earth and hard-working, shaped by multigenerational family leadership who lead by example. You’ll be supported, challenged, and given real opportunities to grow from day one.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a graduate who sees challenges as opportunities, someone who approaches problems with curiosity, initiative, and a desire to understand how things work.

You’ll enjoy working with data and exploring how technology and AI can create meaningful impact across the business. You’ll stay up to date with emerging tools and trends, feel confident experimenting with new ideas, and proactively identify where innovation can improve efficiency and decision-making.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. You’ll be able to translate technical information into clear, accessible insights that colleagues across departments can easily understand.

We’re also looking for someone who is passionate about process analysis and optimisation. You’ll map workflows, recommend improvements, and help shape the systems and processes that support scalable, sustainable growth.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll be involved in real, impactful work such as:

Contributing to data and AI initiatives that enhance reporting, automation, and decision-making across the business.
Analysing and mapping business processes to identify inefficiencies and uncover opportunities for improvement.
Supporting system development, including testing, documenting workflows, and helping deliver enhancements that improve operational performance.
Providing practical IT and operational support, working alongside our Operations Support team to resolve technical issues and ensure systems run smoothly.

What You’ll Need

We are looking for someone who is:

A recent STEM graduate interested in data, technology, and systems
A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Eager to learn, share ideas, and take initiative
Ready to contribute from day one and bring a fresh perspective

About the Company

At Direct Soccer, we’re driven by a passion for innovation, quality, and teamwork. What started as a family business founded by Bryce and Joyce Gibson has grown into one of the UK’s most trusted teamwear specialists, but we’ve never lost the personal touch that got us here. We were ahead of the curve in 2002, launching one of the UK’s first-ever online teamwear stores at a time when e-commerce was still in its infancy.
