Want to build your writing portfolio, communicate to inform, and find new and creative ways to drive people to valuable content? Apply to be a Communications Intern focused on content and visual storytelling as part our talented team. You will help engage internal and external audiences in ways to highlight UE’s unique benefits to members, the liability insurance landscape, and the importance of mitigating risk. You will have opportunities to draft original content, shape creative ideas, and conduct research that informs future communications initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Help shape and execute communication strategies that enhance UE’s visibility.
Be a “bridge” between writer and designer, ensuring visuals are accurate, on-message, and easy to understand.
Identify new ways to build awareness of UE’s risk management resources and thought leadership.
Use sound editorial judgment to determine pivotal findings and guidance for our audience, then spotlight and summarize that information for clear visual display within risk management and liability market resources.
Turn complex, text-heavy content into clear, creative visuals for our team to display via social media, and in articles, presentations, newsletters, and explainer tools.
Produce social media content to highlight UE’s workplace culture and our mission to serve education.

Requirements:

Strong communication, research, critical thinking, and attention to detail
Ability to write short, accurate, high-caliber content tailored to specific audiences
Comfortable collaborating with editors, writers, and designers, including giving and receiving feedback
Willingness to learn and communicate about complex topics such as risk management and liability insurance in clear, accessible language
Basic understanding of visual design fundamentals
Demonstrated experience summarizing text and data and converting it into compelling infographics (preferred)
Skilled in Microsoft Office, GenAI tools (particularly ChatGPT), LinkedIn, and Canva (preferred)
Skill taking photos and filming and editing videos (preferred)
Seeking currently enrolled higher ed students graduating in December 2027 or later

The below hourly range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.

Hourly Range: $24 USD - $24 USD
