Founding Software Engineer – Backend & AI Systems

About the Role

We’re looking for a senior software engineer with 5+ years of experience building backend and API systems using Python, Java, or Go. You should be comfortable working with cloud platforms and modern infrastructure technologies (e.g., AWS, Redis, Temporal) and have a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable solutions.

Bonus: Experience with agentic systems or AI/LLM-enabled products, or frequent use of AI tools in the development process.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable systems to standardise data management across complex datasets.
Develop infrastructure for ingesting, transforming, and analysing structured and unstructured data.
Partner with customers to understand workflows and translate them into product features.
Help shape the technical culture, hiring processes, and product roadmap as an early engineering hire.

Languages: Python, Java, Go
Infrastructure: AWS, Redis, Temporal
Emerging Tech: LLMs (Large Language Models), agentic systems

Qualifications

Experience: 5–10 years of software development, ideally at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
Hard Skills: Backend/API development, cloud architecture, scalable systems design.
Soft Skills: Rapid prototyping, iterative development with user feedback, self-driven ownership of projects.
