About the team
The Subscriptions Business Insights team is at the forefront of driving data-driven decision-making for Roku’s Subscriptions business. This team is responsible for building out the data and information suite that the Subscriptions business runs on: the metrics, KPIs, reports, dashboards, deep-dive analyses, and more. By working closely with cross-functional teams, including Core Analytics/Data Science and Engineering, the Subscriptions Business Insights team will be a key enabler of growth and contribute to Roku’s success.
About the role
Roku is seeking a Senior Analyst, Engagement, Churn & Retention to help shape and accelerate the next phase of subscriber success across our subscription ecosystem. This role sits at the heart of how Roku keeps users engaged, reduces churn, and builds long-term retention - both within individual SVOD services like Disney+ and Paramount+, and across the broader Roku Subscriptions platform.
You’ll define and track the metrics that matter, uncover the drivers of engagement and churn, and partner across teams to design strategies and experiments that maximize subscriber lifetime value. Your insights will directly inform high-stakes decisions at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Strategy, ensuring Roku builds lasting subscriber relationships.
For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between 170,000 - 219,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing
Define engagement and retention priorities: Identify the most impactful opportunities to increase engagement, reduce churn, and improve long-term retention across both partner-specific subscriptions and Roku Pay subscribers.
Build and own reporting: Develop a unified framework to monitor subscriber health - including engagement, churn, retention, reactivation, and lifetime value.
Churn diagnostics: Diagnose churn drivers across content, product experience, pricing, and user segments, and translate findings into clear business actions.
Engagement-driven insights: Analyze how user behaviors (viewing, product usage, feature adoption) drive churn or retention outcomes.
Experiment and optimize: Partner with Product and Core Analytics to design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests focused on reducing churn and increasing engagement.
Model subscriber economics: Build scalable processes that connect engagement and churn to lifetime value and subscription health.
Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate with Product, Recommendations, Marketing, Finance, Partner Growth, and Subscriptions to align churn and retention strategies with Roku’s strategic goals.
Influence through storytelling: Deliver compelling dashboards, presentations, and narratives that connect engagement, churn, and retention to subscriber and revenue impact.
Operational excellence: Bridge technical expertise (Core Analytics, Data Engineering) with business stakeholders to ensure churn and retention data is actionable and trusted.
Champion a churn-aware culture: Promote engagement and churn insights as a foundation for subscription success across Roku.
We’re excited if you have
8-10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years working in a subscription-driven business.
Proven experience developing and executing churn reduction and retention strategies in complex, cross-functional environments.
Advanced analytical skills, including SQL expertise and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
Strong Tableau skills, with the ability to build interactive dashboards that track churn, engagement, and retention.
Strong modeling ability in Excel.
Exceptional communication and data storytelling skills; able to translate churn and engagement insights into executive-ready narratives and presentations.
Experience designing, running, and interpreting A/B tests in partnership with Pro
