Senior Backend Engineer – Azure SaaS Platform

£280/day OUTSIDE IR35

Fully Remote

6 months initially

We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and implementation of core backend services for an Azure-based SaaS platform. Apply here and help define the future of intelligent document automation.

What You’ll Do:

Design and build robust REST APIs and backend systems (Python/FastAPI).
Develop and optimize document generation workflows using templating frameworks.
Architect and maintain secure cloud infrastructure (Azure App Services, Blob, Service Bus, SQL/Postgres).
Implement automated data ingestion and validation pipelines.
Lead performance tuning, observability, and release strategies.
Ensure best practices in CI/CD, security, and reliability.

What You Bring

6+ years of backend development experience in Python (FastAPI/Flask).
Proven experience delivering scalable document or data processing systems.
Strong Azure expertise (App Services, Key Vault, Blob, SQL/Postgres, Service Bus).
Experience with CI/CD (Azure Pipelines) and IaC (Bicep/Terraform).
Understanding of RBAC, multi-tenant SaaS, and secure API design.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with regulated environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 14155).
Knowledge of clinical or medical data models (CDISC/SDTM).
